PATTERN NOTES

This cardigan is worked flat, in pieces from the bottom up. The Diamond Eyelet pattern is worked all over and carefully calculated to match at the side seams. Back shoulder shaping is fully fashioned with double decreases, and the front shoulders are worked straight with deeper armholes than the back. Sleeves are bracelet length. Front bands, which are picked up and worked out, are reinforced with grosgrain ribbon. If you’re substituting with a sturdier yarn, this may not be required. The collar is picked up around the neckline with a small needle and worked with short rows across the back neck, then worked with progressively larger needles. This helps the collar fold over and not stand up.
